SUMMER TIME!

topic posted Sun, March 28, 2004 - 6:24 PM by  Clay
So what are the big plans for the summer with y'all? Once my ass thaws out a bit more, it's off to the lakes for me.

My goal is to go to one more party than I did last summer.
Get a better tan, and get a better house.

What's on your agenda?

hanging with some newbies, low stress job, exercise, camping, clubbin', partying, sleeping, and filming a documentary, maybe a book. Whatever is random and spontaneous -I'm there.

Any interest in sharing your story?

Its disgusting! I feel like I'm a salamander or something.

I'm sitting in the Philly airport waiting for a flight back to that wet place. I've been in Maryland for the past three days and the weather is quite nice. It rained at night but who cares - its 80 degrees outside right now.

Yeah, I've been hearing from my family that they're having the weather we normally get out here in Seattle! AWwwwwww....too bad....grin!

Of course, we'll pay for it later, with forest fires and water rationing....

So - what's coming up for fun and frolic in the good ol' Flour City in the next couple of months, eh?

From what my wife has told me (she used to live in Seattle), out there it might rain in the morning, in the afternoon, or in the evening, but rarely *all day long*. She says Seattle's reputation as a damp, rainy city is undeserved.

Right, in fact during the summer, we often have drought conditions! It's more the lack of sun and warmth than actual rainfall. Normally, we don't get more than a day or two in a row of summer-like weather until mid-July!

So - any sexy stuff going on in my old stomping grounds of the University area, SouthEast, or Cedar/Riverside?

David Byrne is coming to rock the Mpls sculpture garden later this month. Music and movies in the parks. I don't think Cedarfest exists anymore, but I could be wrong. And like, Oh my Gawd!.. the State Fair! Ren Fest, Semi-pro soccer, fireworks over the lakes, Aquatennial, Basillica Block Party, LynLake street festival, Art Car Parade, The Uptown Art Fair, Powderhorn Art fair, Grand Ole Days is coming up...

My Summer Started in May when I got back from L.A. Got back on the 22nd I believe, and went straight to lake Harriet, and went swimming, by swimming I mean I sat and kneeled in the water for a few hours. Got alot of comments by passerbys like "Wow a true minnasotan" or " Are you in the polar bear club" (giggles)

But as for real summer, I plan to go to the Taste of Minnesota, not for the food, but for the fire works. And Hi, I'm Shannon and Im new to this tribe :)
